Crochet is an amazing art form that allows you to create unique patterns and designs using only a hook and some yarn. One stitch that is gaining popularity among crocheters is the spider stitch. This stitch is named after the way the stitches appear resembling spider webs.

The spider stitch is a simple one row repeat, but the outcome is beautiful. If you would like to learn how to crochet the spider stitch please read on.

Materials Needed

Yarn – Any kind and color will do to learn this stitch, but I used Lion Brand’s Feels Like Butta, which is a size 4 medium weight yarn. This yarn is truly buttery soft!

Crochet Hook: Use whatever size is recommended to use with your yarn choice. I used size G or 4 mm (US terms). Check out some crochet hooks (sponsored link) here.

Scissors – Any scissors will do, but there are some great inexpensive ones here.

Darning or tapestry needle – Used to weave in the ends when your project is complete. Make sure it has a blunt end so as not to fray the yarn. Check out the selection here.
